Lead Application Support Analyst – PECO and ComEd Customer Systems


This is a Contract position in Hinsdale, IL posted May 14, 2019.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: Manages activities relating to planning, designing, building, and maintaining high quality solutions, products and processes.

Creates and assigns detailed tasks to subordinates.

Has budget responsibility for a small project, sub-project or process component.

– Responsible to deliver high quality applications maintenance support of the Customer Billing and Payment Portfolio for ComEd and PECO by taking accountability for application maintenance including troubleshooting (typically level 2), preparing and coordinating systems and applications upgrades, handling service requests and system incidents, analyzing and solving problems and proactively suggesting and implementing improvements.

– Analyzes business requirements involving IT solutions that relate to the Customer Application System for ComEd and PECO to improve business performance within the Customer Platforms.

– Builds and/or gathers requirements, specifications, business processes and the business case related to the proposed solutions.

– Analyzes required information and documents.

– Identifies areas where information system changes are needed to support business plans and monitors the impact in terms of change management.

– Contributes to the general functional requirements of the business organization in the area of IT solutions.

– Analyzes business needs and translates them into functional IT requirements.

– Designs specific solutions (including build/buy decisions), ensuring alignment with the business architecture of the solution domain, the internal architecture of the solution (e.g.

application architecture).

– Investigates and selects emerging technologies as needed and creates a future state roadmap of the solution domain architecture.

Works on the level of individual solutions and their integrations.

– Creates, documents, communicates and maintains the overall design of a single or integrated set of solutions through their life cycle
– Reviews detailed designs and solutions for compliance with solution architecture, enterprise architecture and domain guidance Qualifications: POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum:
– Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 5 to 8 years relevant experience.

– Applications maintenance and troubleshooting support experience
– Experience leading small IT projects or sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management.

– Strong problem solving and analysis ability.

– Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
– Ability to work with remote project teams
– Utilizes understanding of customers business needs to determine requirements
– Applies technical expertise to plan, design, build or support required products and processes
– Helps other team members learn appropriate theories, practices and principles that relate to their skill set portfolio
– As assigned, manage budget for area of responsibility
