E-Discovery Client Services Specialist (Non Exempt)

This is a Contract position in PA posted May 14, 2019.

Position Description : 9:30 a.m.

to 6:00 p.m.

– Monday through Friday The Client Services Specialist is responsible for supporting the firm’s attorneys and their clients, as well as managing and coordinating large-scale projects leveraging the Firm’s legal technology solutions.

This individual will also be responsible for providing consultative support and applying project management strategies to manage cases efficiently and effectively.

As such, this position requires a thorough understanding of the litigation lifecycle, litigation technologies, and electronic discovery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Provide hands-on litigation technology support, including database creation and maintenance; importing images, data, and transcripts into databases; exporting data; reformatting and converting data; PDF editing, redaction, and Bates-stamping; and scanning, OCR, and coding.

Ensure client information is appropriately managed and chain of custody is tracked.

Work collaboratively to provide consulting services and guidance to clients, attorneys, and staff.

Manage cases from onset through post-trial, including intake, organization, and tracking of case files on a daily basis; and preparation, and maintenance of deposition transcripts and exhibits.

Communicate regularly and proactively with legal teams to assess goals and set realistic expectations.

Format and process data for legal review using electronic discovery software tools and technologies.

Perform searches and provide technical administration/oversight of document reviews.

Produce data in compliance with governing production specifications.

Burn CD/DVDs and perform batch printing processes.

Troubleshoot litigation support applications and databases.

Provide training to legal professionals on the use of litigation support applications.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills : Experience managing multiple matters simultaneously while coordinating between various constituencies (e.g., litigation teams, outside vendors, client IT personnel, e‑discovery attorneys, and opposing counsel) Strong knowledge of the litigation process and understanding of the use of technology to support litigation efforts.

Experience utilizing and administering litigation technology platforms and databases, especially Relativity, LAW PreDiscovery, West Case Notebook, CaseMap, and Trial Director Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; experience with Microsoft Access strongly preferred Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel, including firm clients, lawyers, paralegals, managers, and IT personnel.

Ability to analyze incoming data to determine appropriate processing/import requirements.

Strong analytical skills; detail-oriented; demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and carry out multiple related activities both independently and in a team environment.

Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.

Related Training and Education Required : Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, and/or equivalent experience in a customer service role, preferably in the legal field.

Minimum of five years relevant e-discovery technology or litigation experience, preferably in a law firm (service provider experience also considered if role involved substantial interaction with outside counsel and appreciation of law firm culture and legal team demands).
